I have a 4ft by 4ft box.. Two giant tomato plants taller than I am with only about 13 tomatos. My zuchinni plant got ate by squash bugs and billions of ear wigs.. I think they got my pumpkin plant too (its turning brown and is holy).

On the other hand.. I was given a zillion green beans (free) and I canned them, 22 qts and 24 pints. Probably atleast a year supply. lol

That's the spirit, Lee!
Who knew that extra rain could be such a problem? I've got lots to learn...

I am impressed with your garden. My carrots, and radishes all wnt to tops. because of the rain. My strawberries are growing great. My tomatoes and squash are doing better with a little bit of warmth. It seems like you are doing much better than I did this summer. I had a fairly good crop of sugar peas. I may plant peas and broccoli again, toward fall. There is always next spring.

Thanks for the suggestion Michelle. I have a pet but he doesn't mess around with the vegetables. Do you think it would be safe to use?

Those darn snails and slugs. My garden has been harassed by them too! I can't put down snail bait (killer) because I have a dog and it is lethal to pets. If you don't have family pets then get a box for $5 at wal-mart. It really works. I've used it in my front yard to protect my flowers.

Welcome Margaret! Do you have a suggestion for getting rid of potato bugs? It seems like we have more than a few and they've really done a number on our veggies.

Kris, I'm sad to hear that so much of your work ended up floating away. I wonder if our plant survived the big rain storms because they're next to big structures that may have offered even a small amount of shelter. Next year!

Thanks Melanie! The green pepper was diced and added to some roasted vegetables. Very nice in deed.
