Hey Linda! I'm so happy to hear from you and THANK YOU VERY MUCH for your kind support of my presentation and the recipes you've found here. For sure try using your fresh apples in this recipe! Trust me, it will be wonderful. Of course you won't need to add the six cups of hot water...but you already knew that. I'm jealous of your 2 apple trees!!!

Hi Leisa,
I don't expect you to remember me since there were a lot of people that talked to you the night you did a presentation for 3 wards in our building. I came and talked to you after and I am still very impressed with you and you presentation. I have made several of the recipes from this website and My family and I love them! I am wondering if you've ever made this Easy Apple Crisp with fresh apples? We have 2 apple trees and I'd really like to try it with the apples we have right now.
Thanks again,
Linda

Guess what Terri. This is your recipe. Yes! Okay, so I changed a few things, but you get all the credit for teaching me how to make apple crisp in the first place. Remember those fun dinners in New York? See, I’m always watchin’ you.
My biggest success with this recipe, sorry, your recipe, was when I served it, hot out of the oven with vanilla ice cream, as a dessert after the Saturday evening session of Stake Conference.
About 15 cooks helped me pull it off and it was a total success. How do you like them apples?

Leisa,
As a child I watched my parents build their food storage and do exactly what you did. We stored what we ate and supplemented it with fresh goods. I followed the same pattern. When we were unemployed and later on half salary at one point, we used our storage. Whenever we were low on cash I could turn to the food I had stocked up on. But the best part was that when I was cooking and ran out of items, the basement always had it and I saved hours of time and gallons of gas. I would make a list of what I used and replace it the next time I wanted to. Best of luck!!
